Ooooh...Friday the 13th today.  We lived through it and nothing odd happened.  Thank goodness.

We had our Dance Booster Club Steakfry tonight at the VFW here in Sauk Rapids.  Honestly I had no idea what to expect.  I've been to plenty of fish fries in my life, but never a steak fry.  I was in charge of a group of six of the girls (since all the dancers worked) that cleared the tables and reset the place settings.  We worked from 5-6:30, which was actually a nice shift since it didn't get busy til about 6.  Seems like it was a good crowd - at one point almost all of the tables were full.  After our shift we all sat down and ate and actually the steak was quite good, I must say.  Now I can say I've experienced a VFW Steak Fry (oh and a meat raffle too)!

We just watched a wonderful movie that we rented from Netflix called The Help.  This is a new release that was probably in the theater just this past Summer.  I had heard good things about it - so decided to add it to our queue.  What a great heartfelt movie.  It is essentially about a young author who during the 60s decided to write a book about the African American maid's point of view on the families for which they worked and what they went through in their lives. Very powerful and I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't seen it.

About ready to head up and brush my teeth - which is so exciting these days!  For one of Emma's Christmas gifts we bought her a Phillips Sonicare Toothbrush (electric toothbrush) - and recently we bought additional heads for it so Andy and I can use it as well.  What a cool thing!  Feels like when you are brushing it is like being in the dentist office and having your teeth cleaned by the hygienist.  I don't think I'd ever go back to just a regular toothbrush anymore - I just love when you find a cool product like that.

Saturday and nothing really going on - so we can all sleep in!!  Finally - it seems like forever since we've had a free Saturday morning.  So looking forward to that.
