January 29, 2012

Just got done watching the final episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York (which in our words was deemed 'The Divorce Special') as opposed to the 'Wedding Special' a couple month ago.  Not sure which is more sad - that I sat for an hour and watched it, or how their relationship fizzled so quickly.  Oh well, it was only an hour.

Emma came home from her sleepover around lunchtime - of course with the 'sleepover hangover'.  I asked the question 'what time did you guys get to bed? or shouldn't I ask?'.  I didn't get an answer - so it was probably really late, or really early depending on how you look at it.  It must have been late because, on her own, she took a nap this afternoon.  I don't think that kid has taken a nap, willingly, since she was 3.  So yeah, she was tired.

Andy is down in Rochester tonight.  He left early this afternoon and is spending the evening at his parents, so that he didn't have to fight any traffic in the morning.  He has his appointment at the Mayo in the morning with one of the best ENT's specializing in sinus issues.  So hoping for a good appointment for him and that he gets some answers or next steps.

For something to do this afternoon Emma and I went to St. Cloud State to check out the Just for Kix dance competition.  It felt sort of odd going there without having Em participating.  But it was interesting to watch her old teammates compete too.   Her team that she was on last year took second today and did a great job.  I guess we just can't get enough of watching dance!

I was reading an article on msn.com tonight with the title 'Is it expensive to be healthy?'.  I do think it is partially true, especially when it comes to food.  The foods that are the least expensive are those that are the least healthy (let's see...Ramen noodles for 10 cents, Mac and Cheese in the box, Hot dogs).  And the healthiest foods - especially fresh fruits and vegetables are very expensive.  It is unfortunate that some people don't have the option to obtain foods that will keep them healthy, and in turn end up having health-care costs that rebound because of it.  It is a strange cycle indeed.

That's all I know tonight.  Goodnight.
